The girls trip to Pondicherry you’ve been trying to plan — we’ve already done it for you.
This is a fully curated 2-day, women-only getaway from Bangalore — designed around what actually makes a trip memorable: a beach that most tourists never find, a French colonial town that looks nothing like the rest of India, a house party where strangers become friends overnight, and a trip lead who has done this route 8 times so you don’t have to figure anything out.
Starting from ₹8,000 per person. Group capped at 15 women. Departures from Bangalore every month.

“We depart at 10 PM on purpose — you arrive in Pondicherry just as the French Quarter catches its morning light. We’ve tried earlier and later departures. This timing is the one.”
“Most groups spend too long at Matrimandir. The real Auroville experience is walking through the community — the bakery, the volunteers, the experimental architecture. We schedule 45 minutes at the site and then move.”

“Paradise Beach is only reachable by ferry or sand dune walk — which is why it’s still clean and uncrowded. We always aim for the 4:30 PM ferry back. Miss it and you’re walking.”

“We do the walk before brunch, not after — the best light on the French Quarter walls is 8–10 AM when the streets are still empty. Coromandel is a 10-minute walk from White Town. Worth every minute.”

“9 PM departure gives you a full second day without rushing. You sleep on the drive back and most people get home before their 9 AM starts. We’ve tested every variation. This works.”

Is Pondicherry a good place for a girls trip?
Yes — Pondicherry is one of the most popular girls trip destinations in South India, particularly from Bangalore and Chennai. It combines beach access, French colonial architecture, café culture, and a relaxed pace well-suited to group travel. The Auroville community nearby adds a spiritual and cultural dimension most beach destinations lack. It’s compact enough to cover meaningfully in 2 days — ideal for a women-only weekend trip.
How far is Pondicherry from Bangalore?
Pondicherry is approximately 310 km from Bangalore — roughly 4.5 to 5.5 hours by AC bus depending on traffic. We depart at 10:00 PM and arrive the following morning, making the overnight journey part of the experience rather than lost time.
Is Pondicherry safe for women travelling alone?
Pondicherry is widely considered one of the safer cities in South India for women, with a well-lit seafront promenade and a calm atmosphere compared to Goa. Travelling as part of an organised women-only group adds a further layer of safety. Our guesthouse is in a secure, well-trafficked area of Auroville with a 24-hour caretaker. The full property address is shared via WhatsApp 48 hours before departure.
What is the best time of year for a girls trip to Pondicherry?
October to March is the best time. The weather is cool and dry, sea conditions are calm, and the French Quarter is at its most picturesque. Avoid July to September (monsoon season) when rain can affect beach plans and the Paradise Beach ferry crossing. We run this trip year-round — our most popular dates are November through February.
Is it Pondicherry or Puducherry?
Both are correct. The city was officially renamed from Pondicherry to Puducherry in 2006, though both names remain widely used. Locals often say “Pondy”. Google recognises both and treats them as the same destination.
Can I join solo without knowing anyone?
Yes — and most participants do exactly that. Roughly 70% of our bookings are solo women joining the group. We run curated ice-breakers from the first night specifically for solo joiners. The group is capped at 15, so it never feels overwhelming.
What is your cancellation policy?
Bookings are non-refundable but your seat is fully transferable to another woman up to 48 hours before departure — just let us know. We operate a no-refund policy because our fixed costs (vehicle, stay, activities) are confirmed 10 days in advance. If we cancel for any reason, you receive a full refund within 48 hours.
What should I pack?
Light cotton clothes, a jacket for the overnight bus, comfortable walking shoes, beachwear, sunscreen, a hat, and personal toiletries. We send a detailed packing list in the WhatsApp group 5 days before departure.
Pondicherry (Puducherry) is a Union Territory on the southeastern coast of India, formerly a French colony until 1954. It’s known for its French Quarter (White Town), beaches, the Auroville community, and a distinct café culture that sets it apart from other South Indian destinations.
Auroville is an experimental international community 10 km north of Pondicherry, founded in 1968. Home to the Matrimandir — a golden meditation dome — and a community of ~3,000 residents from 50 countries.
Paradise Beach is a secluded beach near Chunnambar Backwaters, accessible only by a 5-minute ferry crossing or a 3 km walk through coastal sand dunes. Known for clean waters and relative isolation compared to the main beaches.
White Town / French Quarter is the heritage district of Pondicherry, characterised by French colonial-era buildings, tree-lined streets, pastel-coloured villas, and French street signage.
Promenade Beach is the main 1.2 km seaside promenade in Pondicherry, home to the French War Memorial, Gandhi Statue, and the historic lighthouse.
Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a Roman Catholic basilica built in Gothic style, notable for its stained glass windows. One of the most photographed landmarks in the city.
