Cobbled Tbilisi, Caucasus peaks and Kakheti's wine hills

Your driver-guide meets the group at Tbilisi airport for the transfer to a central hotel. Day two explores Old Tbilisi: Holy Trinity, the sulphur baths, Shardeni’s lanes, the cable car to Narikala and the Chronicle of Georgia. Day three follows the Military Road past Ananuri and Gudauri to Kazbegi, with a 4×4 ride up to Gergeti Trinity Church. Day four is Kakheti wine country, Bodbe and hilltop Sighnaghi, before the airport drop.

Three batches across autumn, snowy winter and spring, all from one Tbilisi hotel so you unpack once and day-trip in a private vehicle.

Welcome to Tbilisi

Tbilisi airport → Tbilisi

Arrive at Tbilisi International Airport, where your English-speaking driver-guide meets the group for the private transfer into the city.
Check in at the hotel and rest after the flight, with the rest of the day free to settle in.
Evening on your own to wander nearby streets, try khachapuri and khinkali, and get a first taste of Georgian wine.

Old Tbilisi and the Chronicle

Tbilisi city

Breakfast, then Holy Trinity Cathedral, Metekhi Church and the Vakhtang Gorgasali statue before walking down to the domed sulphur bath district.
Stroll the café lanes of Shardeni, Sioni Cathedral, Anchiskhati Basilica and the leaning Gabriadze clock tower, then cross the Bridge of Peace.
Ride the cable car from Rike Park to Narikala Fortress, then end at the towering Chronicle of Georgia above the Tbilisi Sea.

Ananuri, Gudauri and Kazbegi

Tbilisi → Ananuri → Gudauri → Kazbegi → Tbilisi

Breakfast, then north on the Georgian Military Road to the Zhinvali reservoir and Ananuri's thirteenth-century fortress on the Aragvi river.
Climb to Gudauri at around 2,200 metres for the Friendship Monument's mosaic balcony overlooking the Caucasus valleys
Switch to a 4x4 Delica for the rugged ride up to Gergeti Trinity Church below Mount Kazbek, then drive back to Tbilisi.

Kakheti wine country and Sighnaghi

Tbilisi → Bodbe → Sighnaghi → Tbilisi

Breakfast, then a Georgian wine tasting to learn about qvevri winemaking before heading east into the Kakheti wine region.
Visit Bodbe Monastery, the resting place of St Nino who brought Christianity to Georgia, set among cypress trees and gardens.
Walk the walls of Sighnaghi, the hilltop 'City of Love', with views over the Alazani valley, then return to Tbilisi.

Breakfast and check-out, with time for a last walk or souvenir run depending on your flight timing.
Private transfer to Tbilisi International Airport for your return flight, with churchkhela and wine packed in your bag.

Best time to visit

May to October brings green valleys and open mountain roads, while December to March turns Gudauri and Kazbegi snowy. Heavy snow can briefly close the Military Road, so our team adjusts the day order if needed.
