We ran the first version of this Kashmir group tour package in October 2023 with a group of eight friends from Bangalore. We had done the research, but the valley had its own plans — the road to Sonamarg was partially iced by 3 pm on day two, and the Gondola at Gulmarg had a 90-minute queue because we arrived at 11 am instead of 8 am. Those two lessons are baked into the current itinerary: Sonamarg is scheduled as an early-exit day (depart by 2 pm), and Gulmarg is a morning-first day (leave Srinagar by 7 am).
We also discovered that Pahalgam’s Betaab Valley and Aru Valley cannot be done in a single half-day if you want to actually stop, not just pass through. So this group package allocates a full Pahalgam day with a mid-day break at a dhaba on the Lidder River bank — a stop most Kashmir tour itineraries skip entirely.
The houseboat night is on Day 1, not Day 4. The reason: groups arrive tired, and the houseboat’s unhurried pace — waking up on still water, having Kahwa on the deck — sets the right tone before the more demanding day-trip days begin.

Pro tip: The houseboat kitchen can prepare a traditional Wazwan-style dinner (Rogan Josh, Dum Aloo, Gushtaba) if requested 4 hours in advance. It costs extra but is one of the most authentic group dining experiences on this Kashmir package. Tell us when you book.

Pro tip: Pony rides at Sonamarg are operated by a local union. Rates are fixed (roughly ₹600–800 per person to the glacier and back as of 2025) and non-negotiable. Your group should budget for this separately — it is not included in the Kashmir group tour package price but is the best way to reach the glacier if anyone in the group prefers not to trek.

Pro tip: In summer (June–August), Gulmarg’s meadow is a carpet of wildflowers — the “meadow of flowers” name is literal. Wear walking shoes, not sandals. The ground is uneven and occasionally muddy near the gondola base.

Pro tip: Lunch in Pahalgam is best at one of the small family-run dhabas on the Lidder bank near the main bridge — Kashmiri Dum Aloo and fresh bread cost ₹120–150 per person. Avoid the tourist restaurants at the Betaab Valley parking lot; they charge three times as much for the same food.

✔ 3★ Hotel in Srinagar (3 Nights)
✔ Deluxe Houseboat Stay (1 Night)
If this is your first time booking a Kashmir group tour package, a few terms and local rules that will affect your trip:
Houseboat
A traditional cedar-wood floating structure moored on Dal or Nigeen Lake in Srinagar. Houseboats have bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen on board. The houseboat on this package is categorised “Deluxe” — private attached bathrooms, hot water, and a front deck facing the lake. The houseboat experience is unique to Kashmir; no other destination in India replicates it.
Shikara
A flat-bottomed wooden boat propelled by a heart-shaped paddle. Used as the primary mode of transport on Dal Lake. Your 1-hour Shikara ride is included. Floating souvenir vendors will approach your Shikara during the ride — there is no obligation to buy.
Mughal Gardens
Formal Persian-style gardens built by the Mughal emperors in the 17th century on the eastern bank of Dal Lake. Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, and Chashme Shahi are the three principal gardens. Entry tickets (₹25–40 per person) are payable directly and are not included in the Kashmir group tour package price.
Gondola (Gulmarg)
A high-altitude cable car at Gulmarg operating in two phases. Phase 1 reaches Kongdori (3,080m); Phase 2 continues to Apharwat (3,980m). It is Asia’s highest operating cable car. Gondola tickets are not included in this package and must be purchased at the counter on the day (₹900–1,400 per person).
Union Cabs (Pahalgam)
The Pahalgam local taxi union operates the only vehicles permitted inside the inner valleys (Betaab, Aru, Chandanwadi). Private tour vehicles — including your AC cab on this Kashmir group tour — are not permitted beyond the Pahalgam market area. Union cab fares are government-regulated and paid directly by guests.
Wazwan
The traditional multi-course feast of Kashmiri cuisine, typically served at weddings and festivals. Signature dishes include Rogan Josh (slow-cooked mutton in Kashmiri spices), Gushtaba (minced mutton meatballs in yoghurt gravy), Dum Aloo, and Yakhni. The houseboat kitchen can prepare a Wazwan dinner on advance request.
Kahwa
Kashmiri green tea brewed with saffron, cardamom, cinnamon, and crushed almonds. Served hot. Offered as a welcome drink on arrival at the houseboat. Available at most dhabas and hotels throughout the valley.

A group of 6 gives the best per-person value (₹8,500) and fills one Ertiga vehicle without needing to split the group. Groups larger than 6 travel in two vehicles and still get the ₹8,500 rate. For 8–12 people, we recommend booking together to maintain a single itinerary pace.
Yes. The itinerary is designed with mixed groups in mind — no compulsory treks, no early alpine starts, and all transfers are by private cab (not shared transport). Children under 5 generally travel free on the cab. Houseboat safety: the houseboat has a railing deck; young children should be supervised near the water.
April to June (spring and early summer) and September to October (autumn) are the two peak windows. For the spring tulip season, book 60 days in advance — hotels and houseboats fill early. July to August is also good weather but highest tourist volume. Winter (December–February) is for groups specifically interested in snow sports at Gulmarg; expect some road closures on the Sonamarg day.
No. Gondola tickets at Gulmarg are purchased directly at the counter on the day. Phase 1 costs approximately ₹900–1,100 and Phase 2 an additional ₹400–600 per person (rates may change by season). We recommend budgeting ₹1,400–1,600 per person for both phases. Your driver will reach the Gondola base by 8:30 am to minimise queue time.
Nights 2, 3, and 4 are in a 3-star hotel in Srinagar with private attached bathrooms. Night 1 is in a Deluxe Houseboat on Dal Lake — a traditional cedar-wood floating structure with private attached bathrooms and a lake-view deck. The houseboat is the most distinctive accommodation element of this package; most groups call it their favourite night of the trip.
Yes, within limits. Common customisations: adding a Srinagar city day (Shankaracharya Temple, Hazratbal Shrine, Lal Chowk), upgrading to a 4-star hotel, or extending to 6 or 7 days to add Yusmarg or a Doodhpathri excursion. Inform us at booking; customised pricing is provided within 24 hours.
Kashmir Valley is an active tourist destination receiving millions of domestic visitors annually. Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Pahalgam are the four most-visited tourist circuits and are considered safe for group travel year-round. Your cab driver is local and familiar with current road and weather conditions. We provide a 24×7 support number for your group throughout the trip.
Light layers regardless of season — Srinagar in summer can be warm mid-day but cool evenings; Sonamarg and Gulmarg are 8–12°C colder than Srinagar at any time of year. Comfortable walking shoes (not sandals) for Sonamarg and Pahalgam. Sunscreen — UV intensity is high at altitude. Cash in smaller denominations — most Pahalgam and Sonamarg vendors do not accept UPI or cards.
