Insider Tip: Mattupetty Dam (6 km from central Munnar) is beautiful in the early morning before tour buses arrive. We skip it in the itinerary to keep the day light, but if you wake up early it’s a 20-minute detour worth taking

If you’re planning your first romantic Kerala couple getaway, these terms come up often — here’s what they actually mean.

We list exclusions explicitly because we’ve seen couples surprised by hidden costs on other trips. No surprises here.
Questions from couples who’ve enquired about this romantic Kerala getaway — answered directly, without filler.
Q: What is the best time to plan a romantic Kerala couple getaway?
October to February is the best window. The weather is cool and dry, Munnar sits around 12–20°C at night, the backwaters are full after the monsoon, and houseboat cruises run without restriction. December and January are the most popular months — book at least 4–6 weeks ahead if you’re travelling then. Avoid June to September unless you specifically want a monsoon trip; the landscape is stunning but houseboat operations can be disrupted by heavy rain.
Q: Is this a private trip or will we be travelling with other couples?
This runs as a small group trip with 2–8 couples. Group moments — the welcome dinner, bonfire, and farewell beach dinner — are shared, but your accommodation is fully private. You get your own room, cottage, or houseboat; you are not sharing a living space with anyone else. If you want a fully private customised version of this trip, we offer that option too — WhatsApp us to discuss.
Q: Are flights to Kochi included in the ₹20,000 price?
No. Flights are booked separately by each couple. The package starts and ends at Kochi International Airport (COK) or Ernakulam Junction railway station. We send every couple a pre-trip briefing with recommended arrival and departure windows. A roundtrip flight from Bengaluru to Kochi typically costs ₹4,000–8,000 depending on how early you book.
Q: What does the “No Cancellation” policy actually mean?
It means we cannot issue a refund once the booking is confirmed, because houseboat slots, cottages, and transport are blocked and paid to our vendors immediately. However, we allow one free date reschedule to any future date within 6 months if requested at least 30 days before your departure. Rescheduling requests within 30 days are handled case by case. We strongly recommend taking travel insurance to cover unexpected changes — we can refer you to affordable options.
Q: Can we do this trip as a honeymoon?
Yes, and many couples do. If you’re booking this as a honeymoon, let us know at the time of confirming your slot. We will place you in the best room or cottage at each property, arrange a dedicated honeymoon setup — flowers, rose petals, and a personalised cake — at one of the stays, and prioritise early check-in where possible. There is no extra charge for this. We just need advance notice to coordinate with the properties.
Q: What is the houseboat experience actually like — is it worth it?
The Alleppey houseboat is the centrepiece of this romantic Kerala couple getaway for good reason. You board a private AC kettuvallam — a traditional converted rice barge — and spend 22 hours cruising through canals, past paddy fields and coconut groves, with a boat chef cooking fresh Kerala meals onboard. We ask the captain to anchor in a quieter side canal for the night rather than the crowded main lake, so you wake up to silence and birds instead of engine noise. Most couples tell us this is the single night of the trip they remember most.
Q: How much extra spending money should we budget per day?
Budget roughly ₹1,500–2,500 per couple per day for lunches and dinners not covered in the package, personal shopping, and incidentals. Specific costs to factor in: Eravikulam National Park entry is ₹125 per person; the couple’s Ayurvedic spa at Munnar is ₹2,000–3,500 per couple; the optional professional photoshoot at Top Station is ₹2,500; and alcohol is billed separately at each property. All of these are optional — you can do this trip comfortably without any of them.
Q: How do I book and what is the payment structure?
Call or WhatsApp us on +91 80731 84260 to check available dates. We will confirm your slot and send a detailed itinerary PDF with the exact properties. To confirm the booking we take a 30% advance — ₹6,000 per person — via UPI or bank transfer, with the remaining balance due 15 days before departure. We issue a proper GST invoice for every payment. We do not take cash bookings.
